Product Safety

While most toys on store shelves are safe, we continue to find toys that pose a range of safety hazards to small children. Exposés by Maryland PIRG and our allies have prompted recalls or regulatory action on over 100 toys. More.

Overview

In our advertising-saturated society, consumers can have a hard time knowing what they’re getting, whether it’s at the grocery store or surfing the Internet. Powerful special interests often overwhelm the interests of the public. Right now, Maryland PIRG advocates on behalf of consumers to make sure dangerous products are taken off the shelves and that the Internet remains equal-access to all consumers.
